Worship is central to Parish life, with the following services being held:


Sunday Worship

Sundays 8am – Eucharist in the Lady Chapel

A 45 minute service using the New Zealand Prayer Book, with readings, sermon and one opening hymn.

Sundays 10am – Parish Eucharist

A 60-65 minute communion service using the New Zealand Prayer Book, with organ, choir, readings, sermon and hymns both traditional and contemporary, particularly by New Zealand authors.

Prayer Ministry is available during and after the 10.00 am service each Sunday.

Morning tea follows the service.

 

Thursday Worship

10.15am – Holy Communion in the Lady Chapel

Traditional Holy Communion in the Lady Chapel according to the Book of Common Prayer.

 

Other Services

Throughout the year further services are held such as:

Palm Sunday and Good Friday services and processions shared with neighbouring St Andrew’s congregation.

ANZAC Day service, an annual Pet Service in October, Carol Service, and Sung Evensong, sung Requiem.

 

School Services

Once a term we are joined by pupils and families from St Matthew’s Primary School for a shared, child friendly eucharist at the 10am Sunday service.

Fortnightly services are held for St Matthew’s School students and staff. 

Morning Prayer

Held in the Lady Chapel each weekday morning, 9am. (Entry from the North side door.)

 

Open Door Ministry

The church is opened by the Open Door Team from 10am to noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for visitors and parishioners.  You are welcome to spend quiet time in the Church or Lady Chapel.
